Race Recap:

Limaland Motorsports Park’s annual NRA/305 Challenge found 39 sprint cars ready to do battle for the bullring’s supremacy. It was, in many respects, a battle of cubic inches on an extremely racey track. The battle that ensued ended up resembling a UFC cage match between two of the heaviest hitters in the game. Last week’s winner, Mike Brecht, used his front row starting spot to lead the first 10 laps as the likes of Dale Blaney, Darren Long, Mike Dussel, and current EFI-NRA Sprint Invaders points championship leader, Phil Gressman, sorted out who would challenge for the win. For Brecht, it was very simple; fly down the straightaways and turn left when you get to the wall! Gressman was able to show Brecht his nose a couple of times but Brecht never surrendered the lead.

17th Annual 360 Knoxville Nationals

Darren came to race at the 360 Knoxville Nationals. He ran well in the time trials each night won 1 B-Main and made 3 A-Mains in which he finished 14th twice and 13th. Darren would have liked to have done even better but considering there were over 60 drivers each night, those finishes were above average. See Darren's website for the complete results or the Knoxville Raceway website.

7/27/2007 World of Outlaws at I-96 Speedway

Darren got the opportunity to run with the big boys in Michigan on Friday night and had some fun trading paint with Steve Kinser on the home stretch in the B-Main before finishing 5th and less than a second out of 4th place and a trip into the A-Main. Overall, Darren was grateful for the opportunity and raced well enough that he may get a few more opportunities before the year is out to run this same car on the World of Outlaws.
