Summary from http://waynesfieldmotorsportspark.com:
The winged 360 sprint cars were the final feature of the evening. #34 Luke Hall and #7c Mike Brecht started on the front row and led the 20 car field to the green flag. Brecht grabbed the lead early and Hall fell in line behind him. As the leaders began working their way through lapped traffic, Hall surged by Brecht and into the lead. His lead was short lived as a lapped car held him up and Brecht took the lead back. The race was stopped near the half way point when Tim Allison and Bob Gehr came together on the front straight with both cars flipping to a stop on the track. After the crash was cleaned up, Brecht and Hall resumed their battle for the point. On the last lap of race, Mike Miller worked his way past Hall and took one shot at Brecht for the lead. At the checkers Brecht proved why he is one of the best as he held off Miller for the exciting win. The final flag waved and the fans were on their way home by 9:45pm.

Darren makes it 2 in a row with the Sprint Feature Win at Limaland Speedway

Darren won the feature at Limaland Speedway for the 2nd week in a row with a last-lap pass.

Elwer Fence Sprints Feature: 1) Darren Long 2) Mike Brecht 3) Luke Hall 4) Mike Miller 5) Dustin Daggett 6) Ron Blair 7) Scott Carter 8) Dwain Leiber 9) Dain Naida 10) Rick Boughan 11) Jeff Williams 12) Kent Wolters 13) Mike Dunlap 14) Tim Allison 15) Tim Norman 16) JR Stewart 17) Dennis Yoakam 18) Corey Seeling 19) Jared Horstman 20) Jim Stinson
Elwer Fence Sprint B-Main: 1) Ron Blair 2) Kent Wolters 3) Dwain Leiber 4) Dain Naida 5) Rick Boughan 6) Chad Gullett 7) Mark Hery 8) Pete Ischi 9) Andrew Bowsher 10) Bob Gehr Sr. 11) Aaron Moloney 12) Bob Gehr Jr 13) Brent Gehr 14) Ryan Ruhl

Thirty-one Elwer Fence Sprints competed for the right to be in the main event. Jared Horstman and Mike Dunlap found themselves on the front row after a 12-car inversion. Horstman and Dunlap battled until Horstman clipped a tire in turn three. This caused front end damage and as he set his car in turn one, the front end dug in and he flipped his car. After a restart, another collision between Tim Allison and JR Stewart found Stewart gently tumbling just below the flag stand. Meanwhile, Dunlap was looking very strong at the point during each restart. The next red flag was for an upside down Corey Seeling. It appeared that Seeling and Dain Naida had some contact which initiated the tumble. And, not to be outdone, a hard-charging Tim Allison made contact with the turn one wall and got his mount upside down for the fourth and final red flag on the sixteenth lap. Dunlap was the car to beat until slight contact with the wall broke a front end piece and he started sliding backwards and ultimately caused a yellow for debris. Does it seem like the race lasted forever? It did, but the wait for the finish was worth double the price of admission. The lap twenty-one restart had Mike Brecht, Darren Long, Luke Hall, Mike Miller, and Dustin Daggett in the top five. Brecht held off Long until the last lap. As the two drivers began the last lap, Brecht committed to the high groove, Long to the bottom. When they rocketed off the final corner, Long surged to the lead and snagged his second last-lap victory in two weeks.

Darren takes the Elwer Fence Sprints Feature Win on Opening Night at Limaland Speedway

Darren won the Elwer Fence Sprints Feature at opening night at Limaland Speedway.

The 2008 racing season is underway at Limaland Motorsports Park. On a beautiful night in Northwest Ohio, a huge crowd assembled at Ohio’s Quarter-Mile of Thunder to watch the drivers knock the rust off. The Elwer Fence Sprints, Professional Computer Company Modifieds and Bud Thunderstock’s thrilled the fans with dramatic, late-race passes for the win. Twenty-eight sprint cars were on hand for the Spring Fling event. The cars were divided up into three heats which were won by Ron Blair, Kent Wolters, and Dennis Yoakam. The feature found Cory Seeling and Tim Allison on the front row followed by Luke Hall and Rick Boughan. Allison asserted himself early and held off a racey Luke Hall. Allison and Hall battled in every turn until Dwain Leiber and Chad Gullett flipped in turn three. Just before the flip, Hall dove past Allison but tapped the wall on exit. During the red flag, Hall took his damaged car to the infield and returned the lead to Allison. This set up a classic dash between Allison and Elida’s favorite son, Darren Long. Long followed Allison for three laps while sizing him up for the pass. Just as Hall had done, Long dove into a hole left open by Allison upon entry into turn three. Long pulled away from Allison to pick up the feature win. Allison, Miller, Stewart, and Boughan rounded out the top five. Summary from
