Race Summary from ButlerSpeedway.net
Darren Long wins North vs. South Shootout
Quincy, Mi. (6/21/08) - Darren Long went to the high side to pass Dustin Daggett five laps from the finish of Saturday's North vs. South Shootout.
The race featured the ASCS Sprints on Dirt (SOD) and the National Racing Alliance (NRA) Sprint Invaders. Long started eighth, while SOD drivers Davey Brown and Aaron Shaffer made up the front row for the feature. After a caution for a spinning Louie Carufel on the initial start, Brown moved into the lead, with SOD hotshoe Dustin Daggett quickly moving from fourth-spot starting position to second by lap two. Daggett went to the high side on lap three exiting turn two for the lead and set sail. Meanwhile, Long made his way to the front with two great restarts. He moved him to second before the halfway point, and on lap 14 he caught Daggett and maneuvered around the top in turns three and four for the lead. It was Long's first feature win outside of Ohio this season; he has victories at Limaland (2), Waynesfield (2), and Eldora. He took the win with sponsorship from Potash Corp., Thompson Construction, Engler Tool & Machine, and Russell Baker Racing Engines.
Daggett was second at the finish, with Brown third, Ryan Ruhl fourth, and Shaffer fifth. Completing the top 10 were 18th-starting Brett Mann, Aaron Smith, Gary Fast, Mike Brecht, and Dain Naida. Heat races went to Daggett, Long, J.R. Stewart, and Aaron Smith. Ruhl won the dash. 'B' Mains went to Brett Mann and Mark Broughman.
